The AARP Driver Safety Program offers an interactive, multimedia course that informs seniors about normal age-related changes that affect driving and helps seniors improve their skills. An on-line course is also available. The State of Tennessee requires insurance companies to discount the cost of collision coverage for seniors who complete the course.
Driving Solutions of Tennessee provides driver evaluation and training by a licensed Occupational Therapist specialized in medically-based driver evaluations and training with adaptive equipment including left foot accelerators, hand controls, steering devices, and other low-tech adaptations.
On The Road LLC is owned and operated by Nancy Ramsey, an Occupational Therapist who provides driver safety evaluations and training. A free for service program.
The Pi Beta Phi Rehabilitation Institute provides assessments to determine if the individual is healthy enough to continue driving. The assessment includes cognitive, vision and on the road evaluations. Insurance may cover costs.
