As the oldest Jewish service organization in Nashville, B’nai B’rith Maimonides Lodge #46 has a long tradition of service to its members, their families, the Jewish community, and the Nashville community at large. The lodge's mission is to unify persons of the Jewish faith in the work of promoting their highest interest and those of humanity.

B’nai B’rith Social Unit

B’nai B’rith Social Unit members belong to all five of the area congregations, and some are unaffiliated. Monthly programs include picnics, tours of Jewish Nashville and the Nashville Holocaust Memorial, theater parties, and holiday celebrations. There are also service projects such as sponsoring Hanukkah parties for local assisted living facilities, book collections for Book-Em, and more.

Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America

The Nashville Chapter of Hadassah is comprised of a dynamic group of women & men who share a passion for social action, helping others and supporting Israel. Their multi-generational group of more than 800 members and associates also focuses on women’s health issues, education and social gatherings to have fun and enjoy each other's company. For those who wish to be involved, there are many programming and volunteer opportunities such as book clubs, Hanukkah happy hours, Hadassah Shabbat, fundraisers, and more.

Jewish Community Archives

Jewish Community Archives houses the history of the Jewish community of Nashville which began with "five families and eight young men" in 1851. The Archive of the Jewish Federation serves as the repository of this history. It is a collection of the stories, records, photographs, and documents of the families that settled and grew in Nashville as well as the businesses and organizations that have made Nashville strong and vibrant.

Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville

Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville is the central voluntary communal organization of the Jewish community. Through its fund-raising, planning, and community relations efforts, independently and in partnership with other Jewish organizations, the Federation works to promote the general welfare, viability, and cohesiveness of the Greater Nashville Jewish community and ensures the continuity of the Jewish people locally, in Israel and around the world.

To help you accomplish your philanthropic goals, the Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville maintains endowment funds in our Foundation. These include Donor Advised Funds, Perpetual Annual Campaign Endowment Funds, and Designated, Unrestricted, and Area of Interest Funds.

National Council of Jewish Women

The Nashville chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women individual focuses on individual improvement, divided into the study of the Jewish religion and history and the work of philanthropy.

Sherith Israel

Congregation Sherith Israel is a century-old Orthodox synagogue with a rich history, welcoming every Jewish soul to their community, regardless of background, level of observance or knowledge, age, or socio-economic circumstances. Their microcosm of Jewish American members include: those who are Shomer Shabbat and those who are not; those who can read Torah or teach a class and those just learning to read the Hebrew alphabet; first generation Americans from Europe, Russia, Iran, Morocco, and Israel and those with roots in Nashville for many generations; and young families as well as seniors and every age group in between.

Tennessee Holocaust Commission

In 1984, the Tennessee state legislature created the Tennessee Holocaust Commission by passing a bill with the purpose of educating others about and commemorating the Holocaust. In 1996, new legislation recreated the commission to recognize its primary role as education and to create a parallel not-for- profit body. This agency's Commissioners, appointed by the governor, function as part of the commission as a whole. The Commission provides a variety of educational services and opportunities which include resources, workshops, conferences, exhibits, learning and in-service seminars, as well as publications for the educational and general community.

Vanderbilt Hillel, Ben Schulman Center for Jewish Life at Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt Hillel is dedicated to building Jewish communities in a variety of formats through empowering students to follow their interests. Jewish Vanderbilt students are encouraged to explore all aspects of Judaism and Jewish life, from Shabbat dinners to alternative break programs and everything in between. The Ben Schulman Center for Jewish Life is a hub for the more than 1,000 Jewish students at Vanderbilt and at surrounding Universities and colleges in the Middle Tennessee area.
